Red and Butter Pieced and hand quilted by members of “The Quilting Chicks”

I joined a quilt group 31 years ago.  It was comprised of dear sisters from the Walnut Creek, CA Stake. Most of us were in our thirties and busy with families. These women became my dearest friends. I have thanked my Heavenly Father on many occasions for their friendship.

As we gathered together to hand quilt around countless beautiful quilts, our group was filled with wonderful conversations. We shared many moments of laughter and tears, creating an atmosphere of genuine connection and support.

If our quilts could speak, they would tell the stories of how we uplifted and blessed one another throughout the journey of raising our children, sending them to college, supporting them on missions, and helping them as they were  married.

Over the years, we transitioned into new life stages: becoming grandparents, experiencing empty nests, mourning the loss of spouses, and facing health challenges. Through all of these experiences, I have truly felt my Savior’s love reflected in these dear women. Together, we have ministered to one another, offering comfort and strength through both the challenges and accomplishments that life has brought us.
